Company founded by Casburn Wayman, to
meet the growing demand for customs forms and bills
of lading. |

son Reginald joined and opened a new
account with the stockbrokers Philips and Drew –
a relationship that continued into the next century. |
| 1939 – |
The outbreak of war saw printing become
a restricted business but under the guidance of the
MoD, the company produced ‘top secret’
tank plans. |
| 1948 – |
Casburn retired and Reginald took over
as MD taking the company into the financial, governmental
and commercial markets. |
| 1966 – |
Moved to bigger premises in Ilford,
Essex and son Ian joined the company. |
| 1976 – |
Ian became MD when Reginald retired.
The company expanded into the commercial field working
for P & O and becoming sole supplier to Chase
Manhattan Bank. |
| 1983 – |
Moved into a purpose built factory in
Loughton, Essex consolidating both companies into
the one site and becoming the CW Print Group. |
| 1988 – |
The group bought Palm Print –
the in-house print division of P & O. |
| 1992 – |
Edward Steward promoted to MD with Ian
Wayman becoming Chairman. |
| 1993 – |
The group bought the first units in
Langston Road. |
| 1995 – |
Installed digital pre-press and moved
to become an all Heidelberg house. |
| 2002 – |
Moved fully into the Langston Road site
and installed the company’s first CTP system. |
| 2003 – |
Achieved BS EN ISO 9001 quality accreditation. |
| 2004 – |
Achieved BS EN ISO 14001 environmental
accreditation. |
| 2005 – |
Installation of the company’s
first Heidelberg 10 colour press. Ian’s son
Richard becomes group MD. |
| 2006 – |
Formed a managed services division,
CW Print Plus, to compliment the existing service
and installed one of the world’s first Heidelberg
CD74 – 12 colour presses. |
